20/09/2016

Photokina 2016, Cologne, Germany ― DNP Photo Imaging Europe is pleased to announce the introduction of the new 8" dye-sublimation printer "DS820".  Offering two types of consumables and meeting the demands of an extended choice of photo formats up to 8x32’’ panorama, this state-of-the-art printer boosts a great image quality that perfectly fits the professional and event photo studio needs. The DS820 will be available in December 2016.

The new DS820 printer is the ideal studio and event partner for artistic and large photographs.

Two types of consumables – Pure Premium and Digital

Two types of media are available: Pure Premium Digital and Standard Digital. With the improved gloss level and the high density output, Pure Premium Digital produces prints of the high quality to meet the market demand of studio photographers. Standard Digital is more cost effective yet keeps high quality.

Exclusive finishes – Glossy, Latte, Fine Matte and Luster

In addition to the classic photo finishes, matte and glossy, the DS820 offers « Fine matte » and « Luster » finishes. In addition, the printer features an exceptional novelty: the partial coating, allowing great creativity for the photographers. With this new exclusive finish, the new DNP printer offers the possibility to print, with only one media, different finishes on one single photo. In other words, one single print can have both matte and glossy finishes in different areas and can thus highlight very specific elements (foreground, background, text...) or allow you to add logo or brand name in a distinctive yet discrete manner. Available with SDK (Software development Kit), this new feature presents a particular interest for the artistic professional photo market, rich in creativity.

A large choice of formats – including panoramic prints

The printer offers prints from 4x8’’ to 8x12’’, including the very trendy square format, 8x8’’. It    also features the international format A4 (21x29,7 cm). Last but not least: the new panoramic format (with SDK) up to 8x32’’, perfect to showcase the landscapes photos!

Productivity and profitability

The new rewind function enables the most efficient consumption of consumables and a limitation of media stock keeping units.

With the standby mode, the printer makes the most efficient use of energy (<0.5W), keeping the electricity bill low at the end of the year. All these new features will benefit the operator with increased profitability.

Connectivity

From sales start, the DS820 will be compatible with DNP’s range of software products, including Party Print for event photo, the kiosk software Tomo™ v6.1, the Nexlab™6 order management software and the software application Hot Folder Print for enhanced print workflows in studio and event. Printer drivers are available for Windows Vista, Win7, Win8, Win8.1, Win10 as well as Mac 10.6 and newer.
